The role:

  • Building professional relationships with existing clients
  • Expanding the current client base, usually via cold calling
  • Attracting candidates by using social media to head hunt, advertise and network
  • Managing the interview/selection processes for client and candidate
  • Negotiating salaries and terms and conditions
  • Researching the market place and industry
  • Attending industry specific conferences and exhibitions
  • Closing deals!

The person:

  • You will be degree qualified and/or have previous recruitment experience within the Professional/Corporate sector.
  • Knowledge of the Shipping industry would be a distinct advantage.
  • You must have a competitive edge and the desire to succeed in this fast paced industry.
  • You must be an influential and assertive communicator with a professional work ethic.
  • You will enjoy challenging situations where there is freedom to act and the authority to take decisions.
  • You will thrive on working to financial targets and will be independent, self-motivated, positive and able to plan and manage your time effectively in order to exceed those targets.

Our client offers a competitive basic salary (DOE) and excellent ‘on target earnings’ which are set 1 year in advance. They provide an achievable target and uncapped commission – with commission rates working on a rolling scale ranging from a minimum of 7.5% to a maximum of 30%, with additional bonus scheme.

The role:

An opportunity has arisen to join their  Naval Architecture department at the heart of their Southampton HQ.  This is a well-established part of their business where they hold major contracts with ‘Blue-Chip’ customers as well as fast-growing SMEs.

  • Building professional relationships with existing and ‘prospect’ clients via the telephone and face-to-face
  • Taking thorough vacancy bookings on the telephone and face-to-face
  • Attracting candidates using the database and marketing as well as headhunting techniques
  • Selling candidates to Clients in a highly consultative manner
  • Managing the interview/selection processes for client and candidate
  • Negotiating salaries, terms and conditions and closing deals!
  • Developing the business plan
  • Identifying and attending key industry events and networking opportunities
  • Supporting with Bids, Tenders and Pitches for new business and to renew / expand existing contracts

The person:

  • You will have previous recruitment experience within an Engineering or Technical capacity
  • You must have a competitive edge and the desire to succeed in this fast paced industry

Fast forward and they can now boast an office network across the UK and a highly successful permanent team of 7 consultants focusing on the white collar construction market. Due to growth only, they are now looking to add a further two consultants to this team.

The role:

  • Building up your own desk of clients in a specified geographical patch, working closely with the permanent director initially
  • Focusing on candidate generation and sourcing in what is a candidate led market place
  • Using proactive headhunting and sourcing methods to find hard to reach candidates as opposed to relying heavily on job boards and adverts
  • Setting up and attending face to face meetings, initially with your director, to build long term relationships with industry professionals
  • Focusing on working towards achieving a monthly target of £10k with clear goals to achieve senior consultant status

The person:

  • You may have some recruitment experience or alternatively you could be a strong sales professional looking to get your first step on the recruitment ladder
  • We are looking for confidence, but not arrogance, and a strong communication style
  • As an individual you must be thick-skinned and able to handle knock-backs with a resilience to bounce back
  • Ambition is key as this team will continue to grow and will be looking for the future leads as they build a team of leaders to support the growth moving forward
  • A car driver is essential as there is a heavy focus on face to face meetings

The role:

  • Working alongside two highly successful construction white collar permanent recruiters who focus on the residential market, your role will be to break in to these clients and to provide contract staffing solutions
  • With a heavy emphasis on face to face contact, you will attend meetings and pitches together ensuring that you provide the client with a full end to end solution
  • Covering the Hampshire, West Sussex, Dorset and Thames Valley region, you will have warm existing clients to build relationships with
  • Covering all disciplines to incorporate site, building and commercial
  • Working in a close knit-team you will share leads and ideas and work together with your colleagues

The person:

  • To be able to be considered you will ideally be an existing construction recruiter with a strong contract background
  • Alternatively you may be a contract recruiter who is keen to move in to the fast pace and currently very busy residential market sector
  • A driver with your own car or a full clean driving licence is essential
  • Proven sales experience and evidence of face to face selling as opposed to pure telephone based recruitment
  • Polished and presentable and able to manage relationships at a senior director level
